Sometimes we forget such thing
And we have Tropical Storm Arthur starting off the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season, only 11 hours early (based on the first email I received at 1:01 pm today from the Palm Beach Post).
Al Gore must be so excited, because an early storm before the "official" start of hurricane season absolutely, positively must mean that he is right about man-made global warming; how else can we explain a tropical system forming in the Atlantic any time before June 1? (Never mind that Arlene formed May 28, 1958; or another Arlene formed on May 6, 1981; both formed before the "official" start of hurricane season, and decades before Al Gore made "man-made global warming" such a popular fiction).
(Dates pulled from the National Hurricane Center archives website http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/pastall.shtml.)
So TS Arthur is heading right into Central Mexico with little chance of long-term survival. An inospicious start to the man-made global warming Atlantic hurricane season 2008.
Today we went anothe movie date, this time to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Do not pay attention to the movie critics... this is another great entry in the Indiana Jones universe, which also pays homages to past Indy movies as well as the Young Indiana Jones televison series. It's full of the fun, fisticuffs, and twists we've come to expect in an Indy movie, and even doesn't try to pretend that some many years in reality have passed for the actors. The Last Crusade was set in 1938 (if memory serves) and this new film is set in 1957. But I will say this... there may have been many years and miles since the last time Harrision Ford donned that fedora, but once again he was all Indiana Jones for two more fun hours...
