Some thoughts...

As I shared earlier... there is just not that much extra going on these days, although this weekend I took my Bride away to Biltmore Estate to celebrate our 12th Anniversary. The weather was cold in the mornings, but became pleasant later in the morning and into the afternoon...

The gardens were gorgeous; the mums were brilliant in their colors, and then the roses were still in bloom and as aromatic as could be. The fragrances were so relaxing... And then, the colors of the trees around the Bass Lake were lovely, but not quite so brilliant as when we visited for our 10th Anniversary. But this time we had the lake pretty much to ourselves, so we got to enjoy the serenity of the surroundings without a lot of other people around to spoil the views...

But, comes the political statement.

On the way home today we listened to the news stations on XM radio. I think Laura Ingraham phrased it best when she interviewed John McCain: what do we have to fear from an Obama Presidency?

As I've always said, according to the Democratic Party my Bride and I are considered wealthy or rich, depending on the particular dollar figure being bandied about at the time. But, also according to two budget resolutions signed by Barack HUSSEIN Obama (as phonetically emphasized by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, he of the great pulpit line "No, no, no... not God Bless America... God D**n America... it's in the Bible!") anyone making over $42,000 would be subject to a tax increase. Bride and I are so screwed...

Before I continue, a little grammar lesson for Joe "Obiden" (the O.C. in me requires that both candidates for a party must have the same number of syllables in the last name): According to Webster's Dictionary online at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Patriotic, the word Patriotic means "inspired by love for your country"... it does NOT mean paying higher taxes. For someone who's been in the Senate for three decades,  he certainly needs to go back to school...

Anyway, Obama and Obiden want me to be paying higher taxes. Based on their own spending plans, our combined tax debts will throw our net income back to probably 1996 or 1997 levels. In other words, Obama and Obiden want me to work my job but give up more of my payroll to them instead of keeping it to invest in my own future. We already sacrifice about five and a half months of our pay to confiscatory taxes to the Federal and state governments, Social Security and Medicaid (neither of which I expect to see in existence when I reach the age to use them). We also invest in our own retirement programs, which are in various stock investments... their combined total plus current returns already exceed by multiple times the amount that Social Security says we will be eligible for when we retire. And the Democrats in Congress say that we are too stupid to invest in our own retirement properly... and already we have better returns on our own investments that the paltry 2% generosity the government will give us.

Neither Obama nor Obiden have ever worked in the private sector. That is obvious with Obama's Socialist statement about "spreading the wealth around" as being good. Having worked in the private sector about three decades longer than either of them, I understand the ramifications only too well: companies are in business to make money. The more money a company makes, the more people will invest (buy stock in) the company so as to get part of that more-money. The company then has an obligation to make more money each year so as to pay investment dividends (profit) to the investors to keep them supporting the company. More investors and more profit for a company allows for growth. If a company has more money for growth, the company can expand and hire more people. More people working means more tax revenue for the government, unfortunately. The company then has to meet budget each year and report to its investors of its progress so that the investors make more money, rather than making less and losing the investors and their money.

Now, throw in the Obama/Obiden tax increases on companies. The company must still make its profit margin in order to maintain its investors. So, to offset the confiscatory tax increases of Obama/Obiden, the company must get rid of expenses. What will be the first to be rid? EMPLOYEES. Reduce the payroll cost, the profit margin goes up. If the company needs to do something else to make up the tax increase... RAISE THE PRICE OF ITS PRODUCTS.

It's actually very obvious... Obama / Obiden are out to destroy the United States economic system by converting it into a Socialist version. Obama will be the President of the Socialist States of America, returning us to the years of Jimmy Carter (he of the infamous "misery index" to measure how f***ing miserable we all are because of him).

Barack HUSSEIN Obama (as emphasized by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright) says that John McCain will be a third Bush term. Barack does not seem to understand that President Bush cannot run again and is not on the ballot... so I do not see McCain and Palin as a third-term Bush/Cheney; I see it as a first-term McCain/Palin. But, I don't fear an Obama Presidency... I am doing my best to prepare for the financial punishment our family will be forced to endure because of his Socialist view of what government is "supposed to do" to the people. I still plan to retire in just under 8 years... I hope that if we are indeed forced to suffer an Obama destruction of our personal finances we can at least have 4 years to recover from his sole term...

(And I still haven't addresses here the fact that Barack HUSSEIN Obama, he who says he plans to visit all 57 states of the United States, plans to surrender the war on terror if he wins the Presidency...)
